| Posted by Carole (caz) on Mar 14 2010 |
A fantastic weekend of celebrating 125 years since Woodville established their first Town Board - today known as Woodville Districts' Vision Inc was held on 13th & 14th March 2010
A Pioneer Street Parade filled with people dressed as pioneers, clydesdales and wagons, vintage vehicles and machinery, Woodville School children, horses, stockmen and of course the first Town Board meeting. A Peddlars Market Day was held on Fountaine Square and was very well supported.
Saturday concluded with 'Some Other Angels' playing as part of Woodville Districts Vision Inc's 'Music March'
Sunday saw an Interdenominational Church Service in Fountaine Square, complete with hay bales as pews and then a wonderful Hangi put down by our local Marae
Thanks to the Woodville Pioneer 2010 committee and all the helpers that made the weekend possible. Many thanks to our Sponsors: Woodville Districts Vision' Inc, Woodville Pioneer Museum,Tui HQ, Woodville Lions Club, Yummy Mummy's Cheesecakes and the many other organisations that gave assistance.
The winners of the best entry in Parade were:

Thanks also to the many participants and the members of the 'First Town Board' entry and organisers
